As of the end of Q3 2020, the Hawaiian Islands achieved the top rank nationwide in terms of both ADR and RevPAR, according to STR, Inc.  However, statewide occupancy was ranked 17th , according to the same source.  Maui’s double-digit RevPAR of $166 for the first nine months of 2020 was well above other well-established Pacific resort destinations such as Cabo San Lucas ($93) and Puerto Vallarta ($31), and a 44 percent premium over the statewide average.  Oahu, the Big Island and Kauai all lagged the statewide average, underscoring Maui hotels’ strong performance despite the punishing headwinds.
