In his former economist role, Michael was responsible for quantitative forecasting of Singapore tourism and hotel demand, and assisted the Singapore Tourism Board with short- to long-term industry strategic planning. He also led various economic studies (economic impact, cost benefit analysis, market sizing) for large-scale tourism development projects such as the Mandai Nature Precinct, Orchard Road Rejuvenation, MICE Hub, Premium Outlet Mall, F1 Race, and WTA Finals, among others. And most recently, as a Senior Manager in charge of Singapore hotel performance database and analytics, Michael helped to develop a hotel module for the Singapore Tourism Analytics Network (STAN), an end-to-end solution for data collection, modelling and visualization.
Previously, in the private sector, Michael worked as Senior Economist at AECOM Economics where he focused on real estate research and land-use economic planning for Asia Pacific clients. Before AECOM, he helped Club Med Asia Pacific successfully launch a regional Loyalty Program and assisted with market research and feasibility studies for new resort investments while working as a regional Business and CRM Analyst.
